Each month, the president of Quota sends a message to the members. Our current president is Carolyn Boegner,

Dear Quotarians,

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones. I also hope that you had a chance to rest a bit before we move into the busy month of December.

On the first day of my presidency, I had the opportunity to attend my first Inter-Service Club Luncheon. Several of our members attended. The food was delicious, and the crowd was energizing. Carolyn Stubbs introduced me to her guest, Cathy Gentry, the president of the Flint Junior League. The keynote speaker was Dr. Robert McMahan, the president of Kettering University. He was an amazing speaker. His optimism for the future of the city of Flint is encouraging, and his efforts to improve the Kettering neighborhood are impressive.

Also in November, several of our members spent a morning of service at the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. Many thanks to Jeanne Clark for making the arrangements.

Looking forward, we are committed to helping our Junior Club, Hands in Motion ASL of Baker College, with two service projects in December. They are having a food drive on December 7th. They need non-perishable food  items. They will also be decorating cookies with MSD students on December 21st. They need cookies, frosting, decorations and tins.

Our holiday dinner and auction will be at Brick Street on December 15th at 6:00 P.M. Dinner is $30, and there is a choice of mango salmon and champagne chicken. Please give your checks to Cathy Moore before December 10th;so, she can get the final count to the restaurant. We need auction items which you can bring with you to the dinner.

Please give some thought to friends and co-workers  who would appreciate the opportunity to join in our service. The more members we have the less work there is for each of us, and the more fun we will have. Each of us brings our unique personality and strengths to the table.

Finally, I know that you have competing demands on your schedule and resources. Please share your ideas to make this club better.

Happy December!

Yours in Quota,
Carolyn Boegner, your president
