A monthly message from our President.

Happy New Year!

The calendar year has only just begun and Quota International of Flint is hoppin’!  Fresh off the heels of our incredibly successful Holiday Dinner (where our auction raised over $1,500!), we are rushing headlong into several events.

First up is another Trivia Night.  Mark your calendars for Friday, February 6th, 6:00 pm.   Kathy Mora is seeking donations of $15 and $25 gift cards, wine, and cash.  Please let her know what you can do, then get your team together, choose a theme, and get ready to rumble!

We are playing host to the Region 4 Conference April 8-10 in Birch Run.  It would be great to have a good showing from our club for this.

Also in April is our annual Tea.  This year’s event will be held at The Whiting on Saturday, April 16th.  More details will follow.  But, in the interim, consider gathering items for that auction.  It’s easy to solicit donations for this from local businesses you patronize.  If you’re out to eat, consider asking the restaurant for a gift certificate.  That’s just one way you can help to make our Tea a success.

These events, as well as everything we do, would not be possible without many hours of work from our volunteers.  I am particularly grateful this month to Lucille Bigelow for all she has done as our Program Chair.  She always tends to every small detail to ensure our programs run as smoothly as possible.  She is taking a hiatus from this role and she will be missed.  Shawn Bryson, however, is stepping in and, while she has big shoes to fill, I’m confident she will carry on the tradition of excellent programming for our club.

I would also like to acknowledge Kathy Mora, who expertly plans our Trivia Nights.  She has taken on this project and excelled at it.  Jackie Scott, too, contributes a great deal of time to our club.  Just the time it takes her to hound me to write this message is astounding! cheeky  In addition to that, she puts together our monthly newsletter and sends out notices for all that we do.  Thank you, Jackie, for keeping us informed.

There are so many people who do so much to carry on the good work of Quota.  Thank you to all of you for all you do and I look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events!

Yours in Quota,
Shelly
