A (Somewhat) Monthly Message from our President

I hope you all have had a delightful summer.  Mine has absolutely FLOWN by.  It’s time, though, to get back to Quota and kick it into gear for the year!

Lest you think we were all just lazing around for the past couple months, I should note that some of us were in Australia (and some of us were also in New Zealand) to attend Quota’s International Convention.  It was a little surreal hanging out with, 10,000 miles away from home, Renee Keswick, Susan Schneberger, and Carolyn Stubbs; but, there we were, watching Renee being installed as our Regional Director (Yay Renee!) and Carolyn presiding over the bylaws session (A treat!  What?! I’m serious!), and Susan, well, being Susan – striking up conversations with random strangers, making sure everyone was doing well, and delighting us with her infectious smile.

The convention was incredibly inspiring.  We learned of international projects, got tips on how to Quota better, and we made new friends from around the world.  Thank you for the opportunity to represent our club; it was a magnificent experience.

Now, about that kicking into gear thing . . .

Our first meeting of the year is fast approaching and we have so much to discuss.  We have fundraisers scheduled.  We have a promise to Flint Youth Theatre to fulfill. We need to review our giving process, affirm our commitment to it, and determine an area on which to focus.  I also have this hair-brained idea of adopting a sister club I’d like to discuss.  Doesn’t it all sound like fun?!

I can’t wait to start our work this year and I look forward to the part you will play in our success!

Yours in Quota,
Shelly
